Yellow Cottage House Illustration Card shows a sunny little house with a bright red roof, and the script line “Congrats on your new home” arcs across the top. The capitals below read “MAY IT BE FILLED WITH MANY HAPPY MEMORIES,” a wish that looks past the moving boxes to the years ahead. It is made for anyone who has just unlocked a front door for the first time.
Ships with a kraft envelope; envelope color in photo may vary.
Artwork and lettering
A painted cottage stands alone in the center of the card, three stories of windows stacked above a yellow facade. Its roof is a deep red with tiled shingles, and a small chimney rises from one side. A pair of pale-trimmed windows flanks a red door under a rounded awning. Green leafy branches curl down both sides, framing the house like a welcome arch. The script across the top is green and flowing, while the capital letters along the bottom are set in a sturdy green face that reads clearly at a glance. Together the lettering and the house feel hand-painted and warm, as if the cottage were drawn for the person receiving it.
Made for this crowd
The people who will notice this card first are the ones who have just signed for a home: first-time buyers, couples moving in together, and families trading an apartment for a yard. Coworkers and neighbors often send it to someone who has finally settled in after a long search. You can also use it when a sibling or old friend has bought their first place and you want to mark the moment without a long speech. Each time, the cottage and the short wish say what needs saying.
Moments it suits
The obvious moment is a housewarming party, when the card can sit on a table beside the snacks and get read aloud. It also fits the week of a closing or the first evening the new owners sleep in their own bed. Many people keep a card like this on a shelf for years, so it becomes part of the house's story.
- What does the house on this card stand for?
- The painted yellow cottage stands for a new beginning, the first home a person can call their own. Its sunny walls, red roof and framing leaves give a welcoming feel, so the card reads as a sincere celebration of the move rather than a generic greeting for any occasion.
- Who is this card best suited for?
- This card suits anyone who has just moved into a house or apartment, including first-time buyers, couples and families settling in. It also works for a friend or relative whose new place you have not seen yet, since the cottage needs no explanation about the home itself.
- When is a card like this most useful?
- A housewarming party, a closing day or the first weekend after the boxes are unpacked are the moments where this card does the most good. It also helps when you cannot attend the open house in person, because the short wish about many happy memories carries your good wishes into the new home.
