Retiree Going Away Card with a Red Convertible by the Lake

Retiree Going Away Card shows A wise man once said, I'M OUTTA HERE, and the second line, And he lived happily ever after, gives the joke its punch. It is a playful nod to a famous-sounding saying, and it says to a colleague that the work is done and the open road is next. It is made for the person who has been counting down the weeks and is ready to trade the alarm clock for slow mornings.

Ships with a kraft envelope; envelope color in photo may vary.

What the design shows

A red convertible sits on a gravel shoulder beside a still lake, angled so its chrome wheels catch the light. Its reflection stretches across the water, rippling gently toward the foreground where the bank curves. Tall trees lean in from the right, and soft hills fade into a haze behind the far shore, giving the whole scene a calm, sun-washed mood.

The printed lettering sits low on the picture, with the smaller opening words set above the bold line I'M OUTTA HERE and the closing phrase tucked beneath. The serif type is crisp and easy to read at a glance. Together, the classic car and the peaceful water suggest a hobby of weekend drives and unhurried afternoons, the kind of life a long career often makes room for.

Who it was made for

This card is for the coworker who is retiring, the teacher closing out a long classroom career, or the boss who has earned a lighter schedule. The first thing they will notice is the car by the water, then the bold words that make them smile. It is the kind of card that gets read aloud before it is signed.

You might pick up this retirement card for a colleague's last day, when the office gathers for cake and speeches. The exact phrase fits neatly into a group card passed around the break room, where each person adds a line about the road ahead. It also works for a family member who has finally stepped away from the workplace.

As a gift and every day

This card makes a fitting companion to a small farewell present, such as a map, a travel book or a thermos for early drives. Slip it into a gift bag or hand it over with a handshake at the end of the final shift. It carries the message of a fresh start without making the moment feel heavy.

After the party, the card can stand on a desk at home or on a shelf as a reminder of the send-off. Each time it catches the eye, it brings back the laugh of the farewell and the sense that the next adventure has already begun.
