Good Luck Cat Card shows “YOU ARE DEAD TO US” with “I mean, good luck.” under it, and that small reversal turns a harsh-sounding line into a warm send-off. It is built for the colleague or boss who is leaving, and for anyone who has shared a desk long enough to enjoy a teasing goodbye.
Note: the seal stickers shown in the photo are for styling only and not included.
Ships with a kraft envelope; envelope color in photo may vary.
The design piece by piece
An orange cat sits in the upper part of the card, one paw wrapped around a bouquet of blue and orange flowers. The cat is drawn with loose, sketchy lines and a calm, pleased expression, as if it were presenting the flowers to someone it likes. The bouquet sits right beside its face, so the eye lands on the cat and the flowers first. Below the cat, the printed words run in navy capitals, with DEAD set larger in orange so it stands out from the rest of the line. The smaller “I mean, good luck.” sits underneath in a lighter script, giving the final punchline a softer landing. The whole layout is simple and clean, with the cat and text stacked neatly on a white field.
Everyday moments
You will usually hand this card to a coworker on their last day, when the team gathers to say goodbye. The first thing people notice is the cat holding flowers, and then the bold word DEAD makes them laugh before they reach the gentler wish at the bottom. Choose it when a colleague is moving to a new office, changing careers, or heading out after years on the same team. It fits a quick signature from everyone at the desk cluster.
When you need a gift
This card works well as a farewell gift for a coworker or boss leaving the company. Slip it into a small envelope with a candy bar or a cup of coffee for the last day. You may also hand it over with a card signed by the whole team at a going-away lunch, where the joke gets a laugh from everyone at the table.
- What does the joke on this card mean?
- The printed line “YOU ARE DEAD TO US” sounds harsh on its own, but the words underneath, “I mean, good luck.”, reveal the joke is a friendly send-off. The cat holding flowers makes the teasing feel affectionate rather than cold, so the reader sees the goodbye is sincere.
- Who is this card best suited for?
- This card suits coworkers, colleagues and bosses who are leaving a team, since the teasing tone works best between people who already share a sense of humor. It also suits someone moving to a new job, because the joke is light and the wish at the bottom is kind.
- How can you pair this card with a gift?
- Tuck the card into an envelope with a small treat such as a candy bar, a coffee gift card or a desk plant for the last day. The cat holding flowers makes a bouquet-themed gift feel like a natural match, and the playful message keeps the whole goodbye light.
