Bear Moving Card greets the new homeowner with a watercolor brown bear standing on a tower of cardboard boxes, with the words “YOU'RE MOVING!” across the top and “CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW HOME” underneath. The bear seems to have already claimed the best view in the place, which is a funny way to say welcome to a fresh start. It is made for friends, family and coworkers who are packing up and settling into a new space.
Ships with a kraft envelope; envelope color in photo may vary.
What the design shows
A soft watercolor brown bear stands at the top of a pile of cardboard boxes, its head turned as if surveying the rooms ahead. The boxes are stacked in uneven layers, some taped shut and others flapped open, and a few sit loose on the ground. A small crumpled bit of packing paper lies near the base, adding a touch of everyday clutter to the scene. The brown fur, the tan cardboard and the pale background give the picture a warm, gentle feel. The lettering above is set in plain gray capitals, and the line below is in a lighter italic, so the bear remains the focus. Together the parts tell a playful story about the chaos of moving day and the reward of arriving at the new place.
Who it was made for
The people who will notice the bear first are the ones who have just lived through a move, the ones who spent a weekend lifting heavy boxes and wrapping furniture. A friend who has finally signed for a first apartment will see the joke right away, and so will a coworker who just bought a house. Send this bear moving card to someone who has earned a little humor after the long haul, and let them laugh at the bear who got to the top first.
As a gift and every day
This card works well as a housewarming gift, tucked in with a plant or a bottle of something nice when you visit the new place. It also fits a moving day message, a welcome to the neighborhood or a simple congratulations for a new job that comes with a relocation. Keep it on the counter during the first week of unpacking, and it will remind everyone that the bear got there first.
- What do the printed words mean?
- The printed words “YOU'RE MOVING!” and “CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW HOME” announce the big change in a cheerful, direct way. Paired with the bear standing proudly on the moving boxes, they turn the chaos of packing into a happy celebration of a fresh start and a new address.
- Who will enjoy this card most?
- Friends, family and coworkers who have just moved will enjoy this card most, especially anyone who has spent days lifting boxes. The bear standing on top of the pile will make people who recently relocated smile, and it suits first-time renters as well as new homeowners.
- When is a good time to send it?
- Send this card soon after the move, ideally during the first week when the boxes are still stacked around the new place. It works as a housewarming gift, a welcome note or a message of congratulations, and it reads well whether you deliver it in person or mail it ahead.
