Vintage Race Car Card shows a wise man’s parting line, and the printed words say I’m outta here, then add the happy ending. It sounds like a fable and then turns into a joke, which makes it a fun way to say goodbye to a long career.
Ships with a kraft envelope; envelope color in photo may vary.
The artwork explained
A green vintage race car sits across the middle of the card, low and sleek with a pale windshield and white spoked wheels. Its open cockpit and curved body give it the look of a classic track machine from another era. Above it, the phrase A WISE MAN ONCE SAID curves in an arc, while the bold block lettering I’M OUTTA HERE stands out in the center. The closing line, AND HE LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER, sits below the car in a calmer serif. The layout reads top to bottom like a story, with the car acting as the punchline between the two halves. Everything is drawn in a simple, flat style that keeps the focus on the words and the car.
Who it suits best
This card suits a man who loves cars, road trips, or anything with a bit of old world style. You will notice the best reactions from people who grew up around classic racing or who have a vintage car in the garage. Coworkers who have been counting down to their own retirement will also enjoy the wink. Use it when you want a funny send-off that still feels personal, and it fits well with a note about the road ahead.
When it fits
The card works for a retirement party, a farewell lunch, or a last day at the office. It also makes a good addition to a gift bag with something he can use on his first road trip. Keep it for the moment he opens his cards and laughs at the car before reading the rest. It is a playful way to mark the start of a new chapter.
- What makes the joke on this card work?
- The joke works because the printed quote sounds like an old saying from a wise man, then the car and the happy ending turn it into an exit line. Readers get the wink right away, which makes the punchline land quickly at a farewell moment.
- Who gets the reference on this vintage race car card best?
- Men who enjoy classic cars, racing history, or open road trips will catch the reference fastest. Coworkers who have been waiting for their own retirement often respond with a laugh, since the line about leaving and living happily ever after speaks to that wish.
- How can you pair this card with a gift?
- Tuck it into a bag with a small road trip item, such as a travel mug or a map of a scenic route. The car on the front ties neatly to the theme, so the card and gift feel like one thoughtful send-off for someone starting a new chapter.
