The design in detail
A golden dog sits upright in a rolling office chair, wearing dark sunglasses and a relaxed open-mouthed smile. Its front paws rest on a keyboard in front of a tall computer monitor, and a stack of binders and books sits on the desk beside it. Behind the desk, shelves hold more folders, and tall plants and a window with blinds fill out the background in soft sunlight. The large blue letters of FRIEND stand out above the dog, while the warm peach lettering at the bottom spells out Best of Luck on your New Job! in bold capitals with a playful, cartoon feel. Together the scene reads as a dog who has settled in and is ready to get on with the work.
When it gets used
You will likely recognize a friend starting a new job when you see the dog at the desk and the words For the Coolest FRIEND. Use this card for a friend who has just started a job at a new company, a roommate who has taken an office role, or a coworker who is moving on to a new team. It works well when you hand it over on a Monday morning or slip it into a lunch bag before their first day. The humor lands because the dog looks so comfortable at work, which is exactly the feeling you hope your friend has.
Good occasions
This card fits a first day at a new office, a successful job offer, or a start date that has been a long time coming. Pair it with a coffee or a small treat so your friend has something to enjoy during the first week. It also works as a card for a friend who has been job hunting and finally landed the role they wanted.
- What does the printed message say?
- The printed words read For the Coolest FRIEND across the top and Best of Luck on your New Job! along the bottom. Together they give a warm, teasing wish to a friend who has started a new role. The message stays light and cheeky, so it feels like a fun send-off rather than a formal note at the start of a new chapter.
- Who is this card best suited for?
- This card suits a close friend, roommate or coworker who has just begun a new job. The cool dog in sunglasses at a desk makes it especially fitting for someone with a laid-back, humorous side who will enjoy the joke about looking calm at work on a first day.
- What occasions work well with this design?
- Send this card on a first day at a new office, after a job offer comes through, or when a friend switches to a different team. It also works when a friend finally lands the role they were after, since the dog at the desk captures that feeling of settling in and getting started.
