This First Day of School Card shows a bright yellow school bus, and the rhyme printed below it says, “On your first day of school, a whole lot is new.” The words name the new classrooms, new teachers, and brand-new friends that wait for a child, and they let a young student know you understand the mix of nerves and excitement. Hand it over, and you give a kid a little reassurance before the bus pulls away, so the card is made for anyone who knows that first morning can feel big.
Ships with a kraft envelope; envelope color in photo may vary.
A closer look at the print
The bus fills the front of the card, seen straight on from the front, with its windshield, headlights, and red lights across the top. Its wide yellow body and dark tires sit on a pale green road that runs toward you. The bus is the clear main subject, and it is easy to recognize as the vehicle many children ride each morning.
Below the bus, the rhyme is set in blue lettering on a light background. The lines sit in short groups, and the final line ends with an exclamation about friends. The printed words carry the whole message, so the bus and the rhyme work together as one picture of a school morning.
Who will love it
The people who notice this card first are young students, along with parents and teachers who see the bus every day. A child will spot the familiar yellow bus right away, and an adult will read the rhyme and feel the pull of a first day.
The exact phrase fits a family getting ready for the first day of school, when a parent packs a lunch and wants to send a note along. A teacher might tuck one into a welcome folder for a student who is new to the class.
It also works on busy mornings, when the card can sit on a kitchen table or in a backpack as a quick reminder that someone is cheering for them.
Occasions and picks
The card suits the first day of kindergarten, a new grade, or a move to a different school. It also works for a first day at a new daycare or after-school program that uses a bus.
You can give it on the morning of the first day, tuck it into a lunchbox, or hand it over at a back-to-school night. It comes in the Greeting Card style and is ready to send as is.
- What does the rhyme on the bus card say?
- The printed rhyme reads, On your first day of school, a whole lot is new, new classrooms, new teachers, some brand-new friends too. - Who is this school bus card best for?
- This card suits a student starting kindergarten, a new grade, or a new school. Parents, grandparents, and teachers can all send it. A child who rides a bus will recognize the front view of the yellow bus right away, which makes the message feel personal and easy to connect with.
