Favorite Teacher Card: A Love Note Built From School Supplies

Favorite Teacher Card shows a red apple and a row of school supplies spelling out LOVE, with the words “Having you as my Teacher!” below it. The rainbow lettering on Teacher and the bright pencils say thank you in the language every classroom already speaks, and that is why it fits a student, a parent or anyone who remembers the teacher who made school feel like home.

Note: the seal stickers shown in the photo are for styling only and not included.

The design piece by piece

The large red apple sits where the O would be, its green leaf and brown stem drawn in soft crayon strokes. A yellow pencil lies flat to form the foot of the L, and a blue pencil stands upright beside it. A pale yellow ruler leans against the apple, and a pink ruler slants in to shape the next letter, while a yellow pencil with a pink eraser stands tall at the end. Three paper clips in pink, blue and green hook onto the final pencil like tiny rainbow loops. Above the word, a pink heart holds a hand-drawn capital I, and small red, yellow, green and blue hearts float around the page. The style is loose and playful, like a child's drawing on a classroom wall, and the whole picture is built for anyone who has ever sat at a desk with a pencil in hand.

Everyday moments

A student usually notices the apple first, then reads the rainbow word Teacher and feels the message land. Parents often pick this up while shopping for a school year thank you, and they tend to sign it with the child's name. The card works just as well tucked into a backpack, a lunchbox or a stack of homework folders, where a teacher can find it between lessons and smile.

When you need a gift

The end of the school year is the most obvious time, when a class is saying goodbye and every student wants to add a note. A winter holiday, a teacher appreciation week, or a birthday for a favorite teacher also fits well. Give it with a small treat or a handwritten line inside, and let the bright school supplies do the rest of the talking.
